Today is Veteran’s Day. A day created to remember the veteran’s of the Great War, WWI. This day has become a day where we honor all veteran’s that have served our US military.
Take a moment to honor the descendants of our American War horse. Take a peek at the website to honor the horses from Sheldon NAtional Refuge- http://SheldonHorses.Wordpress.com
We are working on a short film to educate the public to the issues of the horses at Sheldon. Below is the trailer for the piece.
Last night the Travel Channel aired a piece on the Bureau of LAnd Management and some serious questions surrounding wild horse management. Check local listings as the piece may air again. It also appears that TC will upload the segment at some time in the near future to this link: http://www.travelchannel.com/tv-shows/america-declassified/video
You can read some background info on the story here: http://wildhorseeducation.org/2013/11/09/travel-channel-covers-wild-horses/
Of note however in the piece is that some of the video footage used to show wild horses roaming “free” is actually footage of horses in long-term holding. The most telling is when the announcer says at the end “It would be hard to imaging an America without her majestic wild horses.” The horses running are branded and in long-term holding. Let’s pray that is not a premonition.
